“That’s not Andres Blanco… That’s BOBBY SCALES!”

I went to the Cubs vs. Dodgers game at Wrigley today. And even though we lost, I love my Cubbies. It was my first trip out to Wrigley this season and every time gets better and better. Of course you have those idiot baseball (or unbaseball fans) around you sometimes but they’re at every ballpark. The experience for a Cubs fan (and even for those others that will allow themselves to experience it) is incredible. I feel complete after attending a game. I love this team and this sport with everything. This is what I live for.

Here are a few pictures. We were in the CF bleachers about two rows up. I am in that circle… can you see me? I’m jumping up and down. The pictures aren’t the greatest quality but ya gatta work with what ya got, right?

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wow… it’s been a while. Finally school is out and I have more free time on my hands.

But do I want to watch my Cubbies with all that free time? I don’t know… after this three game set in Milwaukee.. PSH.

But unfortunately I am a slave to all things baseball. So I will undoubtedly go back to watching the Cubs day after day after day.

I am def wondering if I should kidnap Jim Hendry and take over in his place. How can anyone watch our bullpen and go “Damn, that is a sweet bull pen”? Aaron Heilman? Come on. Neal Cotts? Please. Chad Fox? Gone. Action needs to be taken. The only guys that I have COMPLETE confidence in are… oh wait, that’s no one. Gregg and Marmol both give me the jitters when they go up there. However, Guzman hasn’t been too bad as of late.

And I am UBER mad that Randy Wells first major leage outing was awesome but he didn’t get the win! Kids deserves it.

Soto… JESUS MAN! Rookie of the year? Hello? Where did you go? He was up to bat two night in a row with bases loaded and did NOTHING. TWO FREAKING NIGHTS IN A ROW. Um… is this going to be a pattern all year cause I can easily campaign for more Hill time.

My boy Riot was on fire! I didn’t get to blog about his wonderful homers! I wish I could’ve gotten on here sooner! I Ryan Theriot…

except for right now. He’s def in my dog house. Yesterday he had some pretty bad mishaps at short and he hasn’t done anything in the batters box. I think he needs some more time with the “fuzz machine”.

It’s nice to see Bradley come out of his shell. Def need him to start hitting more. He needs to live up to the trade he was.

And Rammy? Don’t even get me started. WTF? More injuries? What is this? 2005? Four to six weeks is a long time. I hope he recovers fast cause he was seeing the ball really well before he went down.

I think that as a Cubs fan there are 3 teams that you DREAD losing to: 1. Brewers 2. White Sox 3. Cardinals

Watching us lose 2 out of 3 to the Brewers was killer. I have a ton of friends that are Brewers fans now that I live in Wisconsin most of the year. I may just have to shut down my facebook if the heckling gets too bad. (Just kidding… my friends are awesome and don’t do that :])

Might I add that I love Mother’s day. I love the pink bats 🙂 I think they are probably the coolest things ever and I think everyone should have to play with one on mother’s day. Our players with them today were: Milton Bradley, Mike Fontenot, Aaron Miles, new guy Ryan Freel, Geovany Soto, and my boy Ryan Theriot. I kinda wish more guys had them on our team. I’m a little disappointed.

Thoughts on votes for the NL All-Star roster? I’ve been voting but I would like to hear who others are voting for as well.

Early day tomorrow. No game but I have a lot of running around to do before I start working at the Teen Center and the Zoo.

Throwing a Fit Like Tejada

Ugh. One of those days, ya know? Well, I’m not actually throwing a fit but I loved it when Miguel Tejada freaked out.

So tonight Dempy takes on Wandy Rodriguez. Those of you who don’t
know Wandy Rodriguez, he went 9 – 7 with a 3.54 ERA. It seems kinda
scary because as I was reading the little info paragraph about him it
said that he ranks 6th in wins in all major league lefties and seventh
in opponents batting average.

Bring it on.

I also love to hear that Fons wants to play in 155 games. Let’s do
the math. 162 – 155 = 7 games. He wants to only miss 7 games. It’s a
little ambitious because as we all know, injuries happen. And whether
its the flu or a torn muscle.. things happen. I hope he gets his 155
games, I really do.

 

It seems like since the dawn of time, or my time at least, and I
have been let down by these Cubbies. Every year I get more and more
nervous. I’m only 19! 70 to 80 more years of this? Can my heart handle
it? I go into every game extremely nervous. Hoping that we don’t get a
loss and that loss doesn’t lead to another loss. I can only imagine
what fans who have been around longer have gone through! And ya know
what is ever better, I love the thought of Cubs baseball season for my
new 80 to100 or whatever years of, what I hope, isn’t agony but
excitement and success.

So we didn’t win but it’s only 2 of 162. I like Aaron Miles but I think that, and I am totally biased, Ryan Theriot would have had that ball up the middle in the 10th. 🙂

Fons has hit 2 homers in 2 nights. What more is there to say on that matter? Amazing, that’s what.

And Reed was safe. In the top of the 9th… he was safe at first and we know that because of replay.

DLee drove Riot in for a run. I am pretty sure the girls next door heard me on that one. But other than that it really wasn’t Riot’s night. He had an error (first on the season) and was caught stealing. Even though him and Hill did connect to throw out Matsui the second time.

I just hit my elbow… OW.

And it’s late. Time for quality girl time with the roomies. Night.

Nooooooo, no es bueno Alfonso!

Okay, I was going to wait until tomorrow to blog buuuuut I’m just so excited!

RYAN DEMPSTER WITH THE COMPLETE GAME WIN! WHAT A WIN!

Except with the loss of Alfonso Soriano =[  Losing him wasn’t good. He was just heating up and just feeling great with his legs and BAM he’s out 6 weeks. Being an athletic trainer for my school, as soon as I heard what they found in the x-ray I was like, “NOOOOOOOOO! FONS!”

But all hope is not lost because the Cubs are not a one-man team anymore. We have people who can fill his spot. I would love to see either Reed Johnson or Micah Hoffpauir in left and Riot in the lead off spot, unless Reed is in the game then have him lead off. I love Reed Johnson.. absolutely love him.

The guys played great tonight. Riot with 2 RBIs and Fu with a 3-R HR. Jimmy with 2 RBIs… I mean this is great baseball. Great stuff coming from the best team in baseball.

Must I even say who the player of the game is? RYAN DEMPSTER, hands down. He had a complete game win with 11 strikeouts… what else can you ask of your starting pitcher? He improves to 8-0 at home and 8-2 on the season (the same record as our ace, Z).

Tomorrow’s match up is a great one. Probably one of the best you’ll see in any game tomorrow. The Baby Bull (8-2) against Tim Hudson (7-4). Should be a great game. Let’s keep the bats hot.

I have a headache so I’m off.
